92, first and only chance at breaking 90 on a non-Par 3 course. Needed a 5 on the Par 4 for 89. Dumped one in the water, skull-fucked another one. Took an 8, cried in my beer.

Fuck you, Mill Cove in Jacksonville.

74 on the esteemed Sand Hills in Nebraska Is the best round I have ever played, but I’ve had a handful of 72 and 73 on less challenging courses. I don’t make enough birdies to have a low outlier round.

I've heard horror stories about Sand Hills that if the wind is up, it borders on the unplayable.

No, it’s like inland Bandon. Nice and wide, but being able to flight the ball down is an asset. I’ve played it in strong winds and I won’t score as well but it’s more fun.

    82. Indian Canyon Golf Club in Palm Springs. 38-44. The 38 is lowest ever on a real course, had 2 tap in birdies and one long putt for another one. My wife shot 84. We are half decent golfers but not that good! Normally right around 90, always have a triple on a par 3 or some stupid thing. One time shot 39-62 for a smooth 101. That hurt.

2-over 73 on a 6200-yard course. Started bogey-bogey-bogey, including two three putts. Then birdied five, birdied 10 and knocked down the stick on 11 (it caromed away to about 20 feet...missed it) before bogeying 15.

They eventually tore down the front nine (they had another 18 which was a bit tougher). I later played the back nine twice with my dad and went 38-33--71 with a birdie on the last.

Had a 93 back in the 1990s (in fact, it might have been in '93). That was pre-children, when I played more.

In recent years, my son has taken up the game, so I've gotten back into it. It's fun to play with him, even though he clobbers it off the tee. Ah, but I still have better touch around the green. I'll occasionally break 100 now, and it's worth celebrating.

Still using the same set of clubs I received for my high school graduation ... a Tom Weiskopf set, with real wood for the woods. Always get some fun commentary when people hear "the crack of the bat."

I think I can shoot about 110 if I consistently go out. The problem is when I am consistently going out, I'm playing nine and I usually have a few mulligans or just end it now holes. I'm not good, but I have fun and I don't typically slow my buddies down too much.
