Kicking the can to the spring is probably going to end the same way. This has three possible outcomes:

    1. Some scientist hits the magic wheel of fortune lottery and we get a vaccine
    2. Enough people get sick that we get herd immunity
    3. People finally get their heads out of their asses and we finally get some control

Chances of 1 or 3 happening before 2 doesn't seem likely, given our current state. And 2 isn't going to happen without more pain and suffering.

Do we know the chorus can't sing or the band can't play? A lot of things are being done on Zoom. Is the student council meeting? They could. The Latin or Chess club certainly can meet online or video conferencing. Joe Burrow never set foot in an LSU classroom. He took online courses for two years. They can't get all high and mighty now. If the entire student body is taking online courses, then the football team certainly can.

If it's not safe for the student body to be on campus, but it's safe for football players to be so that the school can make millions of dollars, people might think that there was a double standard involved.

If one of the players then got sick and had long term damage or died, you couldn't find an ambulance chaser hungry enough to defend the school. Not unless they were well paid in advance anyhow.

LSU football, like many other top programs, is a football business loosely affiliated with an institution of higher learning.

We don’t need a military if everyone agrees not to fight anymore.

Sure. But they can’t gather in the locker room, film room, team meetings and position meetings. Probably shouldn’t huddle or tackle either.

So seven Appalachian State players have tested positive and practice has been suspended indefinitely. I wonder how many players are in quarantine because of close contact with any of the seven. Gotta be a fair amount.

Let’s see if we can figure out how schools can have, you know, school. Then we can worry about football.

That’s not relevant. How old is his son?

For three weeks, without a major slip somewhere. Your school may be doing everything right, kids distancing and avoiding parties and still see your conference crater. Or doing it as right as it can be while you're trying to play through a pandemic.
