The first club the bigots often pull out of their bag is religion.

As for tweeting during broadcasts... they really should take the phone from every announcer. When you’re doing too much is when you’re gonna make a big time mistake. It’s great in terms of the interaction, but it’s not worth what happened to the Charlotte guy.

He plays the Jesus card. Followed immediately by the “Ah May get fired” passive-aggressive/disingenuous sympathy card.
Best MLB markets to get away with this would have to include Atlanta, Cincinnati and St. Louis near the top.

Well, he got the job through being the son of a legend, normally a hallmark of St. Louis or Chicago sportscasting.

For every news anchor who has gotten fired for jumbling a syllable in MLK's name, you've got to fire Brennaman for this. THIS was intentional, even if he didn't expect the mic to be hot.

And in case anyone missed the full "apology," he apologized to his bosses first, then apologized to "anyone I offended." He did not apologize to gay people, the target of his slur.

He did add "this is not who I am," after showing us exactly who he is.

Try actually apologizing to LGBTQ people instead of ”to the people who sign my paycheques”

It would be a refreshing change of pace.
