When this all started, Daytona Beach shut down Bike Week immediately. And then there’s Sturgis.

The only schools they like are 1970s segregation academies, and they prefer the ones of those affiliated with churches.

That's still not a lot of people for the size of the klan rally. And the numbers will never be high. Does anybody think any member of that klan will admit to having been there? We're talking about bikers, who kill those among them who snitch.

Bikers? Ha! We’re talking about boomers spending their disposable income on a motorcycle lifestyle that costs north of 10 grand just for the hardware buy-in (Harleys and Indians ain’t cheap) and is more “Born To Be Mild” than anything you saw in Easy Rider.

Headline is a lot more shocking than the real numbers.

Sweden had 92,185 deaths in 2018.

    At this rate (62,890 on Aug. 14), they will have 101,570 for 2020. That's a 9% increase.

Now do the UK, which already has 41,400 COVID deaths (which is already 8.3% of its 2019 death total of 496,370).

Bottom line: Most countries will see their "highest death rates" since whatever was the most recent calamity (war, famine, etc.).

Of course, for Russia the most recent "calamity" was Yeltsin. COVID is nothing compared to the excess deaths his rule caused.
