A rural town has already canceled the first two HS football games of the season due to a positive test on the team. One positive test. But the entire team and coaches are now quarantined. The principal said something about it being so unfair to the kid and that he’s devastated he cost his teammates two games. So, yeah, players are going to STFU about it until/if they need a ventilator.

But Gov. DeWine here in Ohio says sports will help kids hold each other accountable...

I've already said that regardless of the sport, you are going to have more than a handful of situations where kids and coaches are not going to report positive tests because:

They would have to forfeit a playoff game
They would have to forfeit a crucial game that would get them into the playoffs
They are the better team than their upcoming opponent, know they will win and don't want the forfeit loss, which will affect their playoff seeding.

You are naive if you think it won't be covered up if possible -- especially if it's not a starter.one of the best players.

And FL testing is down. Way down. Being suppressed, I suspect.

More than 500 cases at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Nearly 160 at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Dozens at the University of Southern California.
Colleges and universities that brought students back to campus are expressing alarm about coronavirus infections emerging as classes have barely started, raising the possibility everyone could be sent home.
“The rise we’ve seen in recent days is unacceptable, and if unchecked, threatens our ability to complete the rest of the semester on campus,” University of Alabama President Stuart Bell said at a news conference on Monday, five days after classes resumed, as the mayor of Tuscaloosa temporarily closed bars and warned that the local health system could become overwhelmed.

The total is almost the same as the total in the previous 15-day period. But as others have indicated, that’s because testing has conveniently cratered just as kids are starting to return to school. In the 15-day period ending Monday, 461,493 test results were received. In the 15 days before that: 649,286. A nifty 29% decline.
