If the ESPN graphic is correct, Central Arkansas is playing two games in five days. Given the turnaround time for test results, they won’t get tests back after the first game until after the second is played.

    Yes it might be.

What, in your opinion, should be the breaking point? What should it take for the sport to be shut down?

The Central Arkansas website is a mess. Their social media is a mess. But from what I can gather, Aug. 29 game with Austin Peay has been postponed. I gather this from the website, which seems to have crossed out the game on the schedule. Their institutional social media account doesn't indicate anything about a change. It still has the alumni association's post encouraging attendance at a watch party for the game.

Of course. John Swofford had dreamed of Notre Dame joining as an all-sports member (i.e., football AND the others). Now that Notre Dame did so for the upcoming season, you think Swofford is going to drop the season if he thinks he can help it?

Nah. The abundance of arrogance and Brian Kelly letting a kid die on a scissor lift are enough, thanks.

A national polling service has concluded a majority of college football fans were in favor of the fall sports postponement decisions by the Big Ten Conference and Pac 12-Conference.

In its first national poll, Morning Consult conducted a survey of 1,107 college football fans from Aug. 21-23 and its findings show nearly 70 percent of the people surveyed at least somewhat agreed with both Power 5 Conference administrations to not play football in this 2020 fall academic season.

According to the poll, 68 percent of people who self-described themselves as college football fans supported the cautious approach, including 40 percent of those surveyed who said they backed it “strongly.” Support from fans of member schools was even more robust, with 75 percent of Pac-12 fans and 71 percent of fans from Big Ten schools claimed their conferences made the right call to not play football this fall during the coronavirus pandemic.

UCA's website and social media seem to be in pretty good shape. It says the Bears are playing Austin Peay ("Let's go Peay!) on Saturday. Austin Peay's website says it's playing Central Arkansas on Saturday.

Insane. The NCAA issues guidelines for responsible testing protocols. But it won’t intercede and stop football. Tebow forbid.

Their second game is UAB, 7pm next Thursday 9/3 on ESPN3. Replaces New Mexico St, who isn't playing. I think that's a schedule upgrade. UAB-Miami the following Thursday, on ESPN or ESPN2.

Their AD was on with a local sports radio today. They hooked up with a clinic that's right across the street and while test results were slow back in July they take 36 hours or so. That's not bad.

Central Arkansas is also playing N. Dakota St. in a scheduling oddity. That will be ND State's only game, at home so they can have a Senior Day.

It's more of a showcase for NDSU's quarterback Trey Lance, a possible top 10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

That too. A one game season. Never would have expected to see that.
