He is a 17-year old with zero law enforcement training who went there to brandish his semi-automatic rifle under the fig-leaf of an excuse that he was protecting property. It furthers this right wing fantasy that the only issue which matters is the damage caused by the anger of a community while conveniently skipping over the event which sparked the outrage.

Fox News and Trump have dined on the fear that a band of brown/black people are coming to get you. From the knockout game to MS-13 to Antifa to the New Black Panther Party to the caravans to Black Lives Matters it is all about scaring the shit out of people.

The GOP has been dining on that fear for over half a century.

    Agree 100%

Not sure how defunding the police stops it from happening. It makes it more likely, in fact.

I get the sense from some Democrats that after something like the Kenosha shooting it’s somebow appropriate - almost necessary - that protestors break shit and steal shit, like a punishment for a community’s collective sin, trusting that this group of protestors operates with a God-like moral logic that punishes some businesses while sparing others with moral righteousness, and heaven forbid the law enforcement that tries to stand in the way of that supposed justice. In Seattle, CHOP/CHAZ emerged - remember two people died there - and, in Kenosha, this 17-year-old Call of duty urban warfare wannabe rolls into town.

One of the reasons people are justifying this kid's actions is that someone reached for his gun. I think it's understood that if someone reaches for your gun or tries to take if from, you're legally entitled to shoot him. That's the defense in the case of the jogger in Georgia.

That's so much crap. By that reasoning, you could go on a shooting spree and kill a dozen people. But if the 13th person grabs for your gun you're entitled to kill them. That's what that law says. If that's what the law is.
