The best part of Rahm's putt was watching the replay that was focused on him the entire way. He's walking and watching it, and you can see he thinks it's going to be pretty good. Then all of a sudden, he stops and you can see he's just realized, "Holy shit! This could go in!" Then it drops and he goes berserk.

Lots of people around the green and heard some audible cheers. Pretty cool.

For whatever reason, there were many more people on the course today than in other restart tournament. Saw a shot of three young honeys with badges of some kind following Niemann. I don't think they were marshals or media.

Yup. No fans the next three weeks. Maybe back-to-back in Vegas? Hell, if they can play blackjack like normal, why not go to a golf tournament? Masters in November has already said no so likely no fans until maybe Hawaii.

Ah, c'mon. The players just want more pimiento cheese and egg salad sandwiches for themselves.

Since so many PGA Tour courses are parts of golf developments, there have been scenes of fans cheering from back yards, up against fences, etc. since the restart. Olympia Fields is not like that, and the galleries (of like 5-6 people) were obviously on the premises for some reason or pretense. First time I've seen that.

64 on that layout?......I would be sending that scorecard to the boys in New Jersey. That is obscene.

They clearly lifted the governor today. Lots of birdies in the morning show that I was watching, so by the time the afternoon hit, it wasn't that big of a surprise. But the first three rounds? The blue blazers were smiling and wondering, "OK, let's make it even harder for Winged Foot because, well, par, is so sacred."

Winged Foot can be and has been (1974) made impossible, but that was June. Open will be taking place right about when equinoctal rain storms start to hit the Northeast. If course is soft, they'll go low no matter what the USGA does.

Holy crap was that so much more entertaining than the other Mano-a-Mano sports like car racing of late.

Yup. I love tough, tough courses, but not to the point they are unfair.

I mean, Marc Leishman shot 30-over. 80-78-79-73. And still made the Tour Championship.

But I'm not a fan of the old Bob Hope Desert Classic like last week. Make these guys think and execute.

I wonder if they let the Evans Scholars caddies attend? That's the big fundraising tournament for the Western Golf Association.
