I don't need to watch it to know it's horseshit.

That dude is employed by the NRA so I’m sure it’s completely unbiased.

“Because let’s be clear. A 17-year-old vigilante with a rifle cannot maintain order, because a 17-year-old vigilante with a rifle trying to maintain order is himself the definition of disorder—except, of course, if you’re a regular viewer of Tucker Carlson, a show that exists to teach its viewers precisely three things: Property damage is violence, homicide is order, and pillows are for sale.”

Well at least you're keeping an open mind.

You really think if I listened to it with an open mind that I'd find it persuasive?

I don't need to step in dogshit to know it's dogshit.

There is a breakdown out there by the NYT that Smerconish was featuring on the radio. Sounded pretty neutral.

I posted it a couple of days ago. Do you think it supports the self-defense claim?

Honestly, I was in the car and didn't see it (xm) so I can't say for sure but their thoughts were that it did lean that way.

On second though it was his radio show so there must not have been visuals.

Was Tucker Carlson calling for the Kyle Rittenhouses of the world to activate? Or has he been bashing the federal government for its lack action?

Glenn Beck has had the two reporters who interviewed Rittenhouse on his show. One works for his outfit The Blaze, the other does not. Apparently, a lot of the actual reporting and videos of the incident are coming from those two guys.
The way they laid it out, the first guy who got shot was basically trying to pick a fight. He approached Rittenhouse several times over the span of maybe an hour. Then he started chasing him, a confrontation ensued, and the first shooting happened. When the mob formed and started chasing Rittenhouse, he bolted. Eventually, he fell and the mob started to descend on him. That's when the other two people were shot, including one who had a gun drawn.

So, out of all of that, you have:
    • Possibly justifiable mob violence. They were trying to detain an active shooter.
    • And self-defense. If you follow the chain of events, whether Rittenhouse or Red Shirt Guy were the aggressor might have flip-flopped several times. The final confrontation could certainly be self-defense because at that point there's a very real chance the mob was going to kill him or severely injure him, which would force a jury to determine state of mind in that split second.
    • Rittenhouse should not have been there in the first place, but there was a curfew so you can argue that no one should have been there in the first place. That part of it seems moot.
    Good luck untangling that.

Open carry has been a bad mistake from the start, and now the tree is bursting with poisoned fruit.
