Women's No. 1 seed Pliskova getting demolished by Caroline Garcia. Dropped the first set 1-6 and down a break in the second.

It’s amazing not just how those top three have dominated Grand Slams, but also how long — since 2003. Murray got his couple, and a few like Del Potro and Wawrinka snaked a title here or there. But for the last 17 years it’s been Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.

A couple days in and one side of the women's bracket has already lost No. 1, 11, 12, 13 and 19

By rankings, Nos. 1-2-5-6-7-10 aren't even participating, and No. 9 has a bad hamstring. If Serena can't get through this field, which resembles some lower-tier event in Oklahoma City, Slam title No. 24 is never coming.

Kenin is and has been the one to beat in this tournament.

I saw the match Serena lost in the W&S last week and she looked old. I wouldn't bet on her holding up through seven matches.

    Three years ago.

You know Serena's about to turn 39, right?

And she still has less mileage on her tennis odometer (984 matches played) than Steffi Graf (1,015), who retired at age 30.

Serena could play until she's 55 and not reach Martina Navratilova (1,661).

Good thing no fans allowed this year on the women's side -- they better hope for a Serena, Osaka, Henin, TBA final four to get decent ratings.

There's 32 women left and the only top 10 seeds left are 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 11, 12 and 13 are all out. At minimum 14 un-seeded are in the third round and two still have a chance tonight

    Men have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10

I love me some Medvedev. I would love to see him win this thing.

The Nike florescent yellow of the Agassi era is making a comeback this year at the US Open.
