    Actually they're 1.0 games behind the Yankees for the No. 8 seed in the AL.

    With 30 teams in MLB and 16 making the playoffs, it is highly likely a team or two under .500 will get in.

    Kinda makes the argument that 16 teams is way too many for the MLB playoffs in a regular season. I think it was a good idea for this year, but no chance it should be eight teams per league moving forward.
