Virtual Phone Providers?

Does anyone have experience with a virtual phone provider called Visible?
My wife cam across this, but I'm old school enough to figure if something sounds to good to be true.....

It's $40 or so a month for unlimited everything.
Supposedly they offer lower prices because they don't have physical stores. I get that, and who needs them these days, anyway.
It's supposed to be owned by Verizon and use Verizon towers, so why would Verizon cut into its own business?
The only down side I've seen reported is that you don't get as high of video quality (none issue for me), and sometimes your speeds get lower priority in large settings like stadiums (pretty much a none issue as well).
I need to be able to text, call, check email, use weather and tide apps. Beyond that, my iPhone is a fancy camera.

    Any thoughts?

I have a similar deal through another carrier. $30/month for everything, plus $20/month for the iPhone until it's paid off. So, with taxes, the phone service itself is $36/month, and that gets me more usage than I'll ever use in any month.

These small providers piggyback on the excess capacity the large provides have, so you might not get speeds others get but you get service you need 99% of time
Might not have international or some boondocks coverage
    Check yelp and other reviews
But if they have what you want, go for it

What qt said. Even if you go with a carrier’s prepaid, you’re still behind the rest of the gang in terms of speeds and data availability.
