Lightning remind me a lot of the 90s Wings in the sense they got their ass kicked after a record setting regular season and regrouped
Made a couple of nice additions in Maroon and Bogosian and some bigger ones in Goodrow and Coleman
    Lightning in 7

Maybe Maroon will be a Dallas killer again.

Fucking Maroon. KEEP YOUR FUCKING STICK ON THE ICE.
Played on a line with Getzlaf/Perry and couldn't hack it. Played on a line with McDavid and couldn't hack it. Lands a fourth-line goon role and succeeds. Falling upward.

He scored 27 with McDavid and he’s far from a 4th line goon.

He should have had 40. When coaches say he was brought in for his toughness, that translates to goon. On his sixth organization. Will probably get his second ring. Falling upward.

If you really believe toughness means goon you should stop watching hockey. He’s a fucking role player, not sure what the hell you expect from him

How many players in the league score 40 and based on his past why the hell would you expect
    that?

I’m guessing he thought he should have been Cam Neely 2.0.

Charlie Simmer, same kind of player, scored 56 two years in a row, without doing stupid stuff. Different time, different game. But he didn't get 10-minute misconduct penalties in playoff games.
Lookit, man, just calm down. You don't have to challenge everything anybody says about hockey.

I am completely calm and it’s a message board, debates are supposed to happen. If you don’t want your opinions challenged don’t post them. I get it, Maroon hurt you

Charlie Simmer and Maroon aren’t even in the same universe as players. Lol, that is one of the worst comparisons I have ever seen. What makes them similar?

And Simmer scored in a completely different era.

If you expected Simmer when the Ducks had Maroon your disappointment is 100% on you.

A goon is George Parros, Shawn Thornton, Stu Grimson, Todd Fedoeuk, Todd Ewen, Brian McGrattan, I’m sure you remember those guys.

So if Maroon should be Simmer, who should be Dionne and Taylor, Mike Santorelli and Devante Smith-Pelley?

You over-react, as usual. Maroon didn't hurt me. I just expected him to be better when he skated with Getzlaf and Perry, but he was a dumbass who wouldn't keep his stick on the ice when he was parked in front of the net.
Go back to my original post. All I said was he couldn't hack it as a first-line player, and now he could win his second ring as a fourth-liner. He has fallen upward. If you deny that, maybe you're the one who should stop watching hockey.

What in the hell is falling upwards in hockey? He’s simply a role player that good teams want. Should he have had to retire because he disappointed Chris Long while he played for the Ducks. Charlie Simmer is still a priceless comparison.

lol, here’s an article talking about his play on that line. A little deeper than your analysis.

    Player Review: Patrick Maroon
