With his youth (same age as my son), interesting swing and apparently a personality to match, I'd love to see Wolff win this.

    ANYONE but Reed. Anyone.

I don't care for DeChambeau's petty attacks at the media, but a career surge by him could do wonders for analytics for sports in general.

I played media days at the Country Club before the '88 Open and '99 Ryder Cup. We used the members' tees, the whites, each time so we could at least reach the fairways. Everything of course was insanely hard, but what killed me was the rough. The pros can gouge it out with their club of choice. I had no option but sand wedge to get it up in the air. An endless succession of 3 and 4 irons to reach the green in 3. Or 4 or more.

He's super weird, but DeChambeau showed me something the way he steadied himself after those early birdies.

I don't care what the guys on TV are saying. Mis-clubbing the 10th completely killed Reed's momentum and he hasn't recovered since. It reminds me of Spieth dunking two into Rae's Creek. You can look composed on the outside but there's no way your brain isn't screaming the rest of the round.

No telling what was processing in DeChambeau's head. His head is always processing that sort of stuff. Always.

In other words, the polar opposite of Brooks Koepka, who is always telling us about how simple he attempts to keep things.

Thing is, as scientific as DeChambeau is, he has to know that bulking up and swinging for the fences the way he does now won't bode well for his body long-term. For further proof: Eldrick Tont Woods. For all his workouts, diet and physical regimen, his left knee - what he used to anchor down that torquey swing - and his back are a mess. Coincidence?

    That fucking mental midget Reed.
He deserves to collapse. Of course, the only good your caddy is doing right now is that you're railing his sister every night.
After the double on 11, a seasoned caddy would have taken him into the woods, paint brushed across the jaw a couple of times, and said "Hey......snap out of it. Let's fucking go. You're right there. Find a birdie. Put some good swings togrther, get into a rhythm, and let's go."
    All that said......GO WOLFF!!!!!!!!!!

Wolff shot 5-under today despite hitting just two fairways? That's extraordinary.

If I had to pick, I'd go with Louie. Has won a major, contended in many more, and has that "fuck it, par's a good score," you need in a US Open. But then again, I probably would've picked Thomas as the guy to make a move today. He moved all right.
