That's because it is the last place she wants to be. She's been dropping like a rock for more than a year now.

Schwartzman, who beat Nadal in the quarters, up a break on Djoker in the Italian Open final.

It was fun while it lasted.

He did beat Shapavalov after taking out Rafa, though.

Have they changed the name of the French Open or have the conspirators taken over Tennis Channel?

They're trying to boost their Euro-cred.

Schwartzman taking out Rafa on clay? Wow. Although I think Rafa's taken losses at Rome (or Monte Carlo) before and then cruised at Roland Garros.

He’s lost something like two matches in his life in Paris.

Edit: Just looked it up. Nadal is 93-2 in his career at the French Open.

That's what I meant, Nadal has lost before French before but then cruised in Paris.

I got that. I was just reinforcing that he ALWAYS cruises in Paris.

I've always thought there should be something like a winter Slam in tennis -- they're played on different surfaces, there should be different seasons too. And it looks like we're getting it, or something close, in Paris.

Underway in Paris. A few items of note: Stan Wawrinka demolished Andy Murray, Coco Gauff took out No. 9 seed Konta in straight sets, Auger-Aliassime and Tiafoe will have to wait to be the Next Big Thing, French crowd favorite Gael Monfils goes down in round one and Madison Keys continues her descent.
