I bought a combo brush, metal and plastic, with a small pick attached. Clips to the bag on a retracting reel, use it to clean the club after every shot.

I've been playing the same set of Callaway X-18's for about 13 years now. New grips put on irons 2 years ago.....probably regrip the whole bag next year.
Good friend of mine just recently retired his set of first year Titleist DCI irons.

Dude, I wanted the X-18s so badly when they came out, mainly because I liked the look of them. But I had a bunch of other expenses and $700 on irons wasn’t in the cards. The Super Steels were placed in semiretirement this summer when Golfballs.com had a sale on the M2 irons.

If anyone is the type to toss a wedge off the green only to forget it and have to go back, I suggest regripping next time with white grips. They pop out a bit more when laying in the grass and grab your eyes a bit more.

I played as a kid with my dad's hand-me-down blades. Well, "played" is a stretch -- I might have gotten one ball airborne out of every 50 shots. I'm not sure I'd get one out of 10 airborne now. I'm mad that today's kids have such good equipment.

On another note -- anyone been to Big Cedar Lodge in the Ozarks? Already looked like an incredible golf spot, and now Tiger's new place is open.

Recorded the Payne’s Cup yesterday and just watching opening 10 mins; it’s really nice to hear the players talk about their game and hear the ribs. It’s very much like your typical team match with your buddies. Anyone else catch this? Tiger/JT v Rory/Justin

Better than any other team match before.

I love them. Flirted with a set of Nike Vapor Pro's a summer ago, but decided not to. Friend of mine got a full set of the PXG 0311 T irons.......the ball is absolutely sizzling off these things.

I've had multiple sets of clubs since I was 12 ... but I still grip the club too tight.

Hmmm ... at least you're aware of it. You've never had a fat hit and/or one made in chilly enough weather force your hands to recoil and reconsider gripping the club too tight?

Usually, mishitting a long iron with wind chills below freezing cures that. That hurts when you don't have a death grip on the club. Can only imagine how much that resonates through the hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders with an overly tight grip.

    Are Pings still a thing?

A buddy of mine bought a set years ago. WAY out of my price range. He loved those clubs. Couldn't play for shit, worse than me. But he loved his Pings.

I did have a Ping putter.

Me too. Got a lot of money for mine years ago.

My mother grabbed my stepfather's set of Ping irons. Problem is the hosels are bent for him and he was maybe 5-foot-7. My mother is 5-3. Part of why I didn't say spit ... I'm not especially tall, but I'm a basketball player compared to both of them.

I got the Ping bag - and not one of the clubs in there is a Ping.
