I chose early not to navigate the snakepit of dumb office politics and I knew part of that would involve not saying stupid things, ever.

Crazy bad luck there. He uses that word for the very first time in his entire life, doesn't even know what it means, and it happens to be caught on a hot mic. Now it cost him his job.

Sad.

 

If his last name was anything but Brennaman, would the Reds let him twist in the wind for so long? That, and the way I heard they emptied out their non-essential staff immediately without so much as a "how do you do" when the pandemic hit, would give me pause to send a resume their way.

I think the Reds come off looking pretty bad here because they let him twist instead of ending him.
