    If you select the right stats you can prove damn near anything.

    The bottom line is that countries with intelligent leadership who was willing to listen to informed medical advice and take the necessary measures were able to contain the virus, and those who didn't had far worse stats.

    You also have to throw in whether their leaders were scoffing at the pandemic or taking things seriously and whether the populace was willing to cooperate with said leaders.

    Testing has been shooting up the last two weeks. Adjusted for testing volume, it looks to me like cases are still close to flat or maybe still declining slightly.

    Percentage of positive tests is therefore a better metric than raw case numbers. Hospitalizations, too. Here in Mass. cases are up on a daily basis since July lows, but the positive test percentage is still at 0.9 for the week, which indicates spread is limited.

    In reading the article, it occurs to me that the United States might not be able to get this thanks to Trump’s impetuous bad decisions.
