The one thing they didn't fix was the length of the damn schedule. At one time, they could put up decent numbers against the NFL and college football. That's no longer the case. The season ought to end about six races earlier.

That July 11 race at Atlanta ought to be a little toasty as well.

AMS does have the lights, however.

Aw, c'mon, it has been 155 years since Sherman. Hasn't cooled down yet?

Can’t be as bad as Talladega in July, can it?

Probably not, but that Talladega race this year was born out of necessity. Now they're actually planning to go to Atlanta in July. And it's a Sunday race, so I don't think it'll be under the lights unless they do a twilight start. If you do that, you're also running the risk of a Daytona situation where you're dealing with late afternoon thunderstorms that delay the race for hours.

95 degrees outside, 59 degrees in the media center.

Atlanta has a lot of crappy weather. I've been snowed out and tornadoed out in March there.

The thing I always hated about the Brickyard was right out of the gate people started putting it on the same level as Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, and Darlington.

One of their Super Bowls had an ice storm, and the 2008 SEC basketball tournament was infamously hit by a tornado.
And the 2008 tornado led to the rise of Don Lemon, which was another massive disaster.

FWIW, they apparently are going to keep the Brickyard 400 name, as near as I can tell. It'll just be on the road course instead of the oval. Not sure that keeps it the same race, though.
