Two more positive tests in Tennessee. Game has been pushed to later this season.

So Tennessee is off Week 7 and Pittsburgh is off in Week 8. All they'd have to do is switch one game (the Titans' Week 8 opponent or the Steelers' Week 7 opponent) and they could play then.

Edit: I wasn't thinking about the implications to the opponents' schedule when I made this post at first, but it turns out they WILL only have to change one game. Pittsburgh plays Baltimore in Week 7, and both are off Week 8, so that would be an easy switch.

So the new schedule would be Titans-Steelers in Week 7, with the Ravens off, followed by Steelers-Ravens in Week 8.

But when this happens again, I doubt they will be so lucky with the schedule.

    Horrible decision.

Three weeks 10 Rams get it before a game with Seattle. Their buy weeks don’t match. League tells the Rams to play with what they have. Their obvious reply is why didn’t you make the Titans do that?

To me, this is going to turn into a huge competition committee issue.

Break for the Titans, one of whose positives was the long snapper. I guess they could have signed a guy off the street, but that would have meant having him work just one practice day with holder and kicker and punter.

Happens all the time with injuries, though. In terms of having to bring in replacements like that, there's really no difference between COVID and a pulled hamstring. Just something you have to deal with during the course of a season.
Of course, when you have 10 pulled hamstrings in the same week, that's a different story.

If there were fans I would venture that ownership pressures the commissioners office to keep the games going so the owners can publicly remain in favor of player safety. Which is the third biggest lie

That doesn't make this decision horrible. It actually solves this problem pretty well. Your scenario exposes the lack of thinking the NFL did at the beginning of this to get ready for what if there are positive tests at different points of the season. Just because the NFL doesn't have a plan if this happens in Week 13 doesn't mean they shouldn't find the simplest solution for the problem that happens now.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul is a tough way to run an organization.

Or you are putting a thumb in a crack in the dam.

This solution could make the future problem 10x worse.

How exactly? The NFL found a solution that allows everyone to play an equal number of games without having to play on a weird day or force one team to forfeit or play 15 instead of 16 games. They still need to find a solution for what if this happens Week 16 or Week 17 with teams playing for playoff spots, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a good solution

We can revisit this if it happens again in a couple weeks.
