What you describe at the end of the first paragraph of your post is what I've thought/felt about this thread's recent posts. Despite all Trump's mistakes, stupidity, lack of empathy or awareness, callousness and childishness, I still can't think of this COVID-19 development as a good thing, or anything to root for or celebrate. And his death would likely throw everything into chaos at this particular point in time.

 

the stock market is not the economy. The extent that it is reflective of the economy is measured over a long term. Keeping the economy from melting down required taking the pandemic seriously and executing a plan to get it under control. Preventing the stock market from having a bad day is yet another example of the shortsighted obsession with appearance over substance.

 

For the last 4-5 years Trumpfucks on Facebook and many other places were horrified and enraged when I called Fatboy "a syphilis-dripping pervert" and opined no parent should allow their kid (of either gender) within 100 yards of him without scrubbing off with disinfectant.

 

I don't want him dead, but if he's got a serious disease and is mandating his own treatment to feed his ego, it's gonna be hard to feel anything but he brought it on himself if the worst happens.

 

Oh, he’s doing worse things than that.

Same here. Not a massive Boss fanatic, but a fairly healthy respect for his work. And this is one of his best IMO.

 

Trumpists will rhetorically eviscerate her for this disclosure. It makes the Lord and Savior look really bad if his recklessness hurts kids.

If what he was doing only endangered himself, you'd say, "you be you, big boy. We'll see what happens."
But what he does endangers many many other people.
