There always are. The problem is that anyone who at this point still needs a TV ad to motivate them to go vote isn't going to.

 

I would much prefer a "hard work can make this come true" message. I mean, anyone who follows political Twitter is 100 percent sure to vote. They don't need to be nagged. This is a standard Democratic fundraising ploy (I get two dozen or more such emails a day) and the "oh, Michael, we're doomed if you don't send us $38 right now" message just really chaps my ass. One reason Jaime Harrison may have raised so much money is that his emails are always upbeat.

 

Nobody loves the military more than Trump!

 

Anybody who was dumb enough to have been voting for Trump before this most recent batch of polls is dumb enough to flip back to him before election day. And Trump knows how to win over dumb people.

 

Here's the thing about the polls this year. Trump's numbers, national and in state polls, are remarkably consistent. They run in the low '40s. The highest was a Fox poll in early September showing him at 46, but he also trailed Biden by five. He is not losing voters, he just doesn't have enough right now. The big leads for Biden come when his scores go into the 50s, which incidentally almost never happened for Clinton. Voters are moving between Biden and undecided when they move.

 

Update: New Fox poll has Biden up 53-43.
