Well, the GOP has been linking itself to Lincoln like crazy recently (never mind that "conservatives" called themselves "Democrats" back then). So any way to say, "Lincoln did this, so . . . " is a potential gotcha.

 

Part of the right wing screech machine's agenda in recent years has been to retroactively tear down Lincoln (he wasn't that committed an abolitionist, he had racist attitudes, he proposed widespread relocation of former slaves back to Africa, etc etc etc). This of course is a big winner with their Confederate base, which has hated Lincoln for 160 years.

Except, if it goes the way you want it to, Biden will be president. He or his party have made it clear they don't just intend to take the country in a different way, they intend to change the longstanding rules of government and the system of checks and balances to do it by adding states and Supreme Court justices that they will ensure align with their views. And that's before they get to some of the other stuff on their platform, like more federal control over city and state governments and trying to transform the economy via the various tentacles of the Green New Deal. Those are not conspiracy theories, they are things that are on the campaign's web site.
It's essentially an effort to turn the United States into a one-party system.
You're OK with that, just to get rid of Trump? Knowing full damn well the frightening consequences that would ensue?

Considering the past four years have been an effort to turn the U.S. into a one-person system (all about Trump), yes, I'm OK with that.
