The GOP has been trying to turn the United States into a one-party system by hook, by crook or by plumbers since 1968.

The GOP has been trying to upset the system of checks and balances for just as long. The GOP has been trying to elevate the Executive Branch’s power above the other branches since the Reagan years; it’s been a Bill Barr obsession. We’ve all seen how they react when the Democratic Party has the audacity to win the presidential election.

Federal control of city and state governments is something the Trump administration has been trying to push into de facto status for a couple of years now.

Biden’s not on board with the Green New Deal. Whomever told you he was lied to you. And there’s no question that our economy needs transformation — if the minimum wage had kept pace with inflation from the day it came into effect, it’d be up to $22.36 per hour.

 

They would vote on the same senators as Virginia or Maryland - maybe they don't get their own, but they'd be a big part at electing those representing the state. It's a decent compromise.
