    That is an interesting answer.

Perhaps she was considering a “self defense” situation.

In fairness, Florida's crashed due to high demand on the last day to register, and they fixed it and allowed another day to register.

In Texas, the Fifth Circuit (perhaps not surprisingly) overturned a US District Court ruling and upheld Gov. Abbott's Oct. 1 order that there be one drop box for mail-in ballots per county, regardless of population. Just two weeks ago, the same Fifth Circuit disallowed a change to reintroduce straight-ticket voting, saying it was "too close in time" to the election to make such a change in election law. (But this, of course, is not, for reasons.)

If there is one silver lining to this, it's that there is an interest in early voting in Texas that I haven't seen in decades; lines to vote are apparently quite long all over the state.

Estimated by some Texas reporters 300,000 people will vote today. I know Texas has a hell of a lot of people in it, but that's an impressive total.

Never underestimate American citizens' desire to say "fuck you" if you attempt to do something they don't like. Kind of reminds me how turnout seemed high for the Wisconsin primary that they refused to delay while Covid was peaking there (at the time).

Maybe because they're Ivanka-brand voting machines made in Chayna...

Better yet: Can a woman be president? The word "he" appears 28 times in the Constitution. "His" shows up 18 times. "She" and 'her" are not to be found.
