I watch a lot of these proceedings on WaPo's YT page. I think Rhonda Colvin is cool, calm, collected, and provides excellent analysis.

I heard freedom was just another word for nothing left to lose.

 

Graham is obviously being satirical. I know he kind of sucks at it, but does he need to wear a press badge from "The Onion"?

You're really defending a comment made in extremely poor taste that has very racist overtones? This is really what you're defending right now?

 

I said he sucks at satire.

But if "defending" him means saying he did not actually mean they were the "good old days" but simply used the term to highlight his satirically rhetorical question . . .

then I guess I'm defending him. Sheesh.

 

And that comment was made by a white Republican from the South. It's different if it comes from Cory Booker or even Tim Scott (don't know if he's on the committee).
