C'mon man. The whole reason Palin was forced on him was because the GOP was trying to woo women who were pissed that Obama edged out Clinton for the nomination. Nobody would have heard of Obama? Plus, as TigerVols pointed out, SHE WASN'T ADDED UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE THE CONVENTION. Obama was already the nominee!

Biden should send a thank you note to NBC as well. Trump's best chance to make up ground is for Biden to go on a few incoherent rants and stumble through two hours of live television. That's why the debates were so crucial. He might well do that tonight, but Trump is splitting the audience and fewer people will see any of Biden's gaffes.
Trump is going back to his TV roots and trying to win a ratings war, when he should be letting Biden have the stage to himself. Much like a lot of things in his presidency, it's a bad self-inflicted wound because he just can't help himself.

I don't know if McCain saw which way the wind was blowing in September/October 2008, or genuinely felt like he needed to take a step back to deal with national matters in the Senate, but he basically turned into a ghost for the last month of the campaign. Whatever positives he had, he generated absolutely no enthusiasm to counter Obama's tidal wave.

McCain and our country would've been better off had he picked Lieberman, as he wanted.

Sarah Palin begat the tea party which begat this disaster sitting in 1600 Penn.

Biden should have special guests, like a 70’s style variety show. Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Beyoncé, Dave Chappelle, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey special guest Star Barack Obama and the Lakers Cheerleaders.

make it a 2 hour telethon for COVID RELIEF

The McCain of 2000 was much different than the McCain of 2008 unfortunately. The Sam Jones University visit and Palin were not "Maverick" like. Still a great American notwithstanding anything Mr. Bonespurs says..

Name one "Biden gaffe" over the past 4 months that has made a ripple in the mind of undecided voters. One.

McCain had many virtues as a legislator, but understanding of international finance and macroeconomics were not among them. The Global Financial Crisis, which went supernova that September, was an issue he was not able to address, which probably demolished the slim chance he had to beat Obama.

McCain’s best argument against Obama was that he was an experienced leader familiar with how government worked and Obama was a rock star who you couldn’t trust to handle the proverbial 3 am call. Picking Palin really undercut that position — it may not have mattered in the end but it was a silly and impulsive choice.
