Mitch has decided having the presidency and courts is better than having the Senate
Trump has let it be known Lindsey Graham and the rest of the vulnerable Republicans are expendable
If Trump cheats to stay in office a Democratic Congress can pass anything it wants and Trump will veto it, issue executive orders for who he wants and depend on the courts to uphold him

If President Trump somehow manages to stay in office while the Democrats control the House and Senate, would they even wait a week into his second term before impeachment proceedings begin?

That's exactly what I'm talking about. He's definitely had his moments where he stumbled over words, appeared forgetful (repeated references to running for vice president instead of president), appeared lost, or was on the verge of losing his temper when he was pushed the slightest bit on certain issues, but it's mostly been limited to snippets and sound bites and largely hidden from view like the rest of his campaign. People aren't familiar with that side of him.
The longer he's out there talking, especially when he's not reined in by a moderator, offers a much greater opportunity for one of those small moments to blow up into something big. And that's what Trump needs. He needs people to see the thin-skinned, doddering old man Joe Biden and not the 47 years in the Senate respected statesman Joe Biden.

 

Basically you’re saying Trump needs people to see Biden as Trump.

 

It's better for Fox if Biden wins. That way, they get to be the opponent again. Anger motivates viewership and they'll have plenty to be mad about if their boy loses.
