Interesting fact. Five Senators have tested positive for the Virus That Doesn't Exist. All five are Trumpists.
In the House, Trumpists occupy roughly 46% of the total population but account for 61% of the positive cases.

... and a superspreader event in eastern North Carolina. Add one more state to that list soon.

Glad he’s feeling better, but his excuse defies the basic understanding about incubation time and the need for social distancing.

After another week or so of this insanity, I'd say the die will be cast for what Election Day will look like. And the outbreaks will be all in "battleground" states.

Texas and Georgia will make 400 EVs. Not a prediction, but a high possibility.

    OK but what about Regeneron?

    This wasn't peer reviewed.

But it isn't that surprising if it is true and underscores how susceptible people are to miracle cures.

Remdesivir is an anti-viral that was not developed specifically for this coranavirus, and it has proven ineffective in treating a lot of other viruses. Gilead spent a lot of time and effort developing it, but it was basically a drug looking for a disease prior to this, so the idea that it was effective for this -- without the best evidence to support that -- seemed a bit too perfect. Gilead itself studied it in the early spread of Covid disease and it's results weren't a slam dunk. They claim that it seemed to cut mortality in people who received it in early while receiving oxygen (which was a small subset of the group they studied, and I am sure how statistically significant it was), but had to admit that it didn't show any statistically significant reduction in deaths across all of the patients that they treated in their trial. The WHO is basically supporting that.

What really needs to be done are better studies to give a more definiive answer about whether the drug is helpful at all.

It's a different mechanism. Remdesivir is an antiviral. Regeneron is a monoclonol antibody. One seeks to kill the virus and keep it from replicating. The other is trying to get your immune system to produce antibodies to fight off the disease caused by the virus.
