Can't say I'm shocked the Falcons are having issues. Their coach has been fired and their season is toast. Less incentive to remain disciplined. Makes you wonder if this is going to be a real problem as more teams realize and accept that they're not going to the playoffs.

Falcons had a positive test a few weeks ago -- A.J. Terrell.

The NFL's "plan" was really a joke from the beginning. It assumed maybe a couple of people on a team might get Covid, so they fixed this by adding a couple of people to the practice squad. Obviously, we're seeing that was never going to work. Too many people to account for and hold accountable. As we get further along, keeping everyone honest is going to be harder unless you start threatening pay. The NFLPA would shit a brick, but if guys don't otherwise care, how are you going to stop people from not going out needlessly. Baseball got the ship righted, but I think that was more due to the inconvenience of doubleheaders and more players actually following protocol. But what are you going to do if some scrubs on a nonplayoff bound team decide staying in their hotels aren't worth it and cause an outbreak right before playing a team who actually has playoff implications riding on the game?

If the NFL gets lucky and catches Patient Zero before he has a chance to go Typhoid Mary on everyone, the "system" works. But they never thought they wouldn't get Patient Zero and it's showing.

They've found a way to get through this. The False Positive is now trending. The AFC South is invoking the concept, soon to be joined by the Alabama Crimson Tide, which is a day away from decreeing Saban's initial result to be false.

Saban should just sit it out. If it’s a win, he’ll take it. If it’s a loss, he’ll pull a Coach K and let his assistant take the L.

A false positive I can buy. Four of four smells like fish three days in the sun.

He tested negative for COVID Thursday. As long as he tested negative again today, he will be cleared to play Sunday.

Both teams will be without their top interior linemen, Wyatt Teller for the Browns and David DeCastro for the Steelers. Pittsburgh will also be without wide receiver Diontae Johnson. His injury opened the door for Chase Claypool to play such a big role against the Eagles, so that might work out okay.
