What we know of Joe Biden is that he's a consummate politician who said this: "If the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money."

Again: I don't think the election is about this, nor should it be. But what are you talking about? A politician father getting roped into his shady son's crap? It's one of the older stories in world fuckin history. Journalists shouldn't be in the business of getting out Ragu's divining rod to figure out the truthiness of things before even asking.

The media's trepidation on this isn't unfair to Trump. It's unfair to how it handled Clinton.

 

We will certainly never know, though, will we? Because way too many of us are willing to try.

 

Again, wrong. Trump's outward behavior on this front is worse. He relishes being an asshole for reasons only clear to him.

But I think Biden's intention is more or less the same. Hey, pal, you'd better shut up. And because most journalists are rooting for Biden to win, the effect of his distaste is more pronounced. It's almost a badge of honor to get railed on by Trump and, indeed, you see reporters taking victory laps on Twitter for just that. Do it to Biden, though, and it's like you farted in the room.

 

Biden talks like any of us who are meeting friends in a bar.

Trump is a bully who can't stop spewing bullshit.
