Wonder if Fitz said, "You know, this year has been a whole lot of fun. Maybe I should step aside and go out this way, after two big wins -- and not get my ass kicked by Aaron Donald next week. Hey, coach, why don't I sit and let's let the kid play?"

If they were healthy, I could see it, but they have just been decimated by injuries. They just lost Ertz and Sanders Sunday. They are missing their top two wide receivers, their top two tight ends and three or four starters on the offensive line, depending on Lane Johnson's status.

The Cowboys could use Fitz ...

Have you ever, and I mean ever, seen a healthy starting qb lead the cheers for the backup to come in, like Fitzmagic did Sunday?

Not sure what the argument is here. Tua was Trevor Lawrence before Trevor Lawrence. He's a top 5 pick who dropped bigly to 5. The Dolphins aren't making Super Bowl plans. It is Tua's time. Everyone gets it.

At the very least, he may feel lucky that the team doctor didn't puncture his lung in order to get the rookie in there.

I am so tired of commentators simply saying that "Dak Prescott bet on himself and then was injured. He gambled and lost". Commentators should add that Prescott has a put to permanently inflict Andy Dalton upon the Cowboys that covers Dak from economic loss.

As someone who advises others in agreements, this is exactly why there is a balancing of flexibility vs. guaranteed. Did Dak bet on himself? Probably, IIRC the Cowboys made a sizable offer with guarantees. What I dislike is people criticize those who sign and then use the Kirk Cousins/Lebron examples of playing out each contract to max earnings as if getting through each season is a given. This is a harsh reminder that its not a given. (KD is an extraordinary example of getting hurt and then getting a max deal; I can't recall another such example.)

I was surprised how terrible Dalton was.
