More accomplished legislatively. More involved with crafting legislation. McGovern was a war hero, civil rights supporter in the Senate before it was fashionable. A Real liberal for workers rights and the environment. Jackson was social libertarian before it was fashionable but a stern hawk on Russia. He saved tens of thousands of dissidents in the Soviet Union and expanded Jewish emigration from the USSR. Daniel Patrick Moynihan is one of the smartest people in American history to serve in the Senate. He was UN Ambassador when it meant something. Kerry was and accomplished Senator for multiple terms and a war hero. Gore was VP twice and multiple term US Senator. Goes on and on.

Sexism? Maybe. self-hatred and/or loathing is more like it. It's kind of hard to explain the amount of derision that women of an age in this country faced growing up. I remember when I wasn't allowed to do things because I didn't have a penis, when I had to wear a dress because I didn't have a penis. Always being told or shown or treated like you're less than the boy or the teenager or the young man sitting next to you takes a toll on your psyche.

 

The political calculus is pretty funny when you stop to think how fast Rudy's tape came out after Hunter Biden's alleged kiddie porn laptop.

Travis is a smart guy - it's one thing to do a phoner with the President (whomever it is) - another thing to take roadie to meet with them. I'm sure Travis is enjoying the sugar rush, but he has to understand that people who associate with Trump end up paying a price, right?

Always thought Clinton should have sarcasticly embraced the "dark Countess" role, instead she seemed take offense to it or avoid discussing it. She had eight years to "get it right" after '08 - don't know why she didn't do more to refashion her image. Or at least create a new one that might have been BS, but at least she wouldn't have felt she was letting anyone get too close to the real her.

 

I think he's banking on being able to milk it no matter what. Biden wins, Travis' readers are aggrieved and have someone to demonize. Trump wins, his readers get to gloat ... and still have plenty of grievances.
