Fun fact: Grandpa Jones started doing the Grandpa act in 1935 -- at the age of 22.

I'm certain I like browsing at Bass Pro Shops and dining at the Bavarian Bierhaus at Opry Mills more than I did going to Opryland.
One funny memory I have of Opryland was being there one time when it came a big storm. Everyone was look for indoor attractions. I went into a petting zoo. They had given us some sort of yellow tickets at the gate, and one particular goat was attracted to yellow. He ate the yellow tickets out of peoples hands, pockets, whatever and then zeroed in on a dude wearing a yellow rain poncho. I guess you really had to be there 40 years ago as a kid, but I remember having a blast watching that goat eat people's stuff.

Roy Clark was a great musician on a variety of instruments, and fiddle might have been his best. I think I recall him saying he thought it was his best. On top of that, Clark was a pure showman. Alone or with others, he always kept his audience entertained.

Was up once with friends and rode the Wabash Cannonball 23 times. For some reason there were no lines that day. Had a great time.
