I don't think they can end it soon based on their pitching staff

I'm assuming they didn't want to "waste" Buehler against Snell, they lose that game and then throw ??? against Morton and go down 2-1. They probably felt they had a game to play with and if they won, great, they could try for 3-0 with Buehler. And now, if Buehler does what you think, all the guys who threw today get two days to rest for Saturday

If L.A. loses Game 1, they go Buehler in Game 2.

But even with the two off days, After Kershaw and Buehler, the Dodgers have shown they don't trust May and so you have Urias, I guess, as your No. 3 with no logical No. 4 based on what they are doing with May and Gonsolin.

It looks like the Dodgers are going to bullpen games not started by Kershaw and Buehler until it is a must win game.

If the Dodgers win this, I'll eat crow. If they don't ...

Buehler would have been starting on three days rest and has been battling blisters. He pitched Saturday, no way they start him on Game 2 up 1-0. The Fox crew kept saying he was on full rest, which was wrong.

The Dodgers have Buehler, Urias and Kershaw lined up for games 3-5 then have an issue again if it gets to Game 6. Buehler would be on full rest for Game 7 a week from tonight.

Fair enough. I forgot he pitched game 6 and there wasn't 2 days off in between games.

Imagine being on acid in '67 and trying to watch those A's in those psychedelic tones.

People forget that Dimaggio was a Bay Area kid, married Marilyn in SF and spent much of his retirement in the Bay Area. I imagine Dimaggio was paid well in order to generate some attention for the A's. Still can't believe the Yankees allowed him to wear anything but pinstripes for life.

And it was his fourth time on the ballot.

    Joe DiMaggio
    4th year on ballot (1955)

Joltin' Joe is an icon. He won three MVP Awards, led the Yankees to nine World Series championships, and his 56-game hit streak might stand as the Major League record forever.

But in his first year of Hall of Fame voting after retirement, 1953 (he previously got one vote in '45 while he was serving in the military), DiMaggio was named on fewer than half the ballots. He didn't make it the next year either. He got there in 1955, joining the Hall of Fame with 88.8 percent of the vote.

Crazy going through the voting - after the initial class, the first player to crack 90 percent of the vote was Bob Feller in '62. Sure there was a backlog and yes, Dimaggio was the first of his "era" to get in, but damn.

Only time I saw DiMaggio in person was before Game 3 of the 1989 Series. He had a box on the field, of course, and I was about 12 rows up on the third base side, right at the edge of the infield. Of course, at 5:04 p.m. PDT, we were all on the edge.
