Glad to see the Dodgers finally get over the top. Also, fuck the fucking Tampa Bay Rays.

Watching the final out and hearing the "crowd" go crazy made me hope that someday we get to hear the actual field audio from the these playoffs. The fake noise certainly gave the games a sense of normalcy, but considering how unusual this season was, I think it was kind of a disservice to gloss over the differences.

I get why they did it, and I admit, it probably made the games feel better. But it kind of hurts the integrity of the broadcast. At the risk of sounding Pollyanna-ish, it reduces the broadcast to entertainment instead of documentary.

Oddly, I did not feel this way during the regular season. I guess because of how much the playoffs mean to the history of the game, it feels weird to not know what it actually sounded like in the stadium. We could SEE the difference. It's incongruous to hear a full stadium of screaming fans while seeing a smattering of them (many with nominal rooting interest) scattered throughout the stands.

Hell, we know what it sounded like when Mazeroski homered in 1960, but not what it sounded like when Betts homered in 2020. Odd.

Turner apparently was pulled because he tested positive for COVID. IIRC, it's the first MLB positive COVID test since July.
