As we stare out a window and wait for spring … it wouldn’t be the Mets without a mess.

I love Mike, but Cohen is not a good guy. Then again, what pro sports team owner is? The question as to whether Cohen is a competent owner, the real issue, is unproven, although I'd bet he'd do a better job than A-Rod. JLo, maybe not.

Cohen is likely a scumbag. No different than most team owners.

And de Blasio could fuck up a one-car parade because of his outsized ego.

That being said, the NY Post story Vac is tweeting about is thin at best and contradicts itself within the first few graphs.

Likely clickbait based on an axe-to-grind source. And A-Rod involved for sure. Sherman and the Post did a lot of water-carrying for the A-Rod/J-Lo group. Seems like an extension of that.

White Sox are expected to hire Tony La Russa as their manager today.

Not sure if typo or snark, which is the best type of snark.

The real question - is Cohen an upgrade over the WillPawns - YES!

LaRussa? Seriously? I thought the White Sox were ready to make a charge to the top. I actually thought the Cora or Hinch idea was kind of obvious. Ned Yost and John Farrell would be better hires thant LaRussa.

    Sounds like a Reinsdorf hire.

Isn't Cora going back to the Red Sox or did I miss another hire there?

Widely expected, but I don't think any announcement has been made.

I’d love to see every team re-hire the managers they had in 1983 (yes I know some are dead). All managers were awesome back then. We at one time had an American League with Sparky Anderson, Bobby Cox, Billy Martin, Tony LaRussa, Joe Altobelli, Ralph Houk, Harvey Kuenn, Pat Corrales, etc. Those guys might make me want to watch baseball again.

I agree with you, but to be fair, I probably said that when the Marlins hired McKeon and maybe when the Yankees hired Torre.
