Daniel L. Cox, a Republican state delegate and attorney who is representing Swain, filed an amended complaint on Friday, which argues in detail how Swain’s rights allegedly were violated.
“Dan Swain believes in his religious right to [breathe] oxygen and worship the Lord his Creator with an uncovered face, including while he votes, and not with a muzzle, face covering or mask,” the lawsuit reads. https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...c56cb2-1adc-11eb-befb-8864259bd2d8_story.html

it cannot be understated how far right they have gone in recent decades. A pre-Reagan GOP platform wouldn’t look out of place with a current Democratic platform

Absolutely. And speaking of, it reminds me of a Reagan-Bush primary debate question on illegal immigration from the 1980 campaign...both Reagan's and Bush's responses to the topic don't even sound like they arose from the same universe as what you'd hear from Trump, or any modern GOP candidate for that matter.

    RE: Bobby Orr....
An athlete or celebrity tweeting something is whatever. That's the world today.
But what in the world would possess a person to take out a paid newspaper ad in support of a POTUS candidate?
    It's a dang cult.

    Seconded.

As I've said here many times, Obama governed as a Rockefeller Republican.

    Aprés Reagan, the deluge.

That lurid, lunatic reactionary fringe Buckley had kept so long in quarantine is now front row center at the Trump rally.

Ideas once only available on a damp mimeographed sheet handed out in the shopping center parking lot by members of the John Birch Society are now the Fox and Friends daily briefing to the president.

Why won’t Orr and Favre stick to sports? That’s all we heard from Republicans in the last four years.

Damn. We really missed the boat by not being on board with Nixon's platform of
Medicare for all, gay marriage, student loan forgiveness and universal basic income.

Maybe they were right about that? It’s easy to dismiss Favre as a hick idiot, probably because it’s true. But Nichlaus is a very accomplished businessman, a mogul. Are we so quick to dismiss his endorsement or just understand that his self interest is trump and his politics? We can judge or re-judge jack because of his politics. But if we ask that Favre and Nichlaus and any athlete that endorses Trump to STFU, then it must apply across the board.
It’s better to judge them rather than shut them up?
