Such an icon and what a loss. He had such quotable lines and a voice like none other.

I hope SNL gets a Celebrity Jeopardy sketch here soon.

From what I've heard, the letter could have easily been real because he was apparently quite cranky the last several years.

    RIP to a legend.

The obligatory comment: The James Fucking Bond. I love Daniel Craig, but no one will ever be better in the Bond role than Connery.

As referenced earlier, he was outstanding as Henry Jones Sr. I loved that casting from the moment I heard of it, and Connery did not disappoint.

A lot of his other movies have been mentioned, but I have to put in his small role in the WWII epic "The Longest Day." A great "I didn't know he was in that!" for me.

Some really bad movies too, but he rose above them to some extent. "Zardoz" and "Highlander 2" have been mentioned, but this was quite the find for me many years ago: My parents were visiting and while watching TV we came across this gem on TBS, with Connery as the "Green Knight." It's funny how "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" supposedly made him retire from acting, when "Valiant" made "LXG" look like a cinematic masterpiece.

Most actors have made bad movies along the way, either straight up for the money or because the project wasn't what they thought it would be. Michael Caine has made a bunch of them, and he's not apologetic about it. Films are his career and how he makes money, and if he does not have an offer to do a good one he'll make a bad one and cash the check. Given the size of the checks an actor like him are offered, I can't blame him for that.

Sean Connery had lapped the field before he stopped playing James Bond.

Roger Moore was OK. But, in his defense, he had to play Bond differently. Not as big, physically strong or gifted as Connery, he compensated by being a little more of a wiseacre.

Timothy Dalton was in because the Broccolis couldn't get Pierce Brosnan out of his gig. Brosnan was a decent cross between Connery and Moore ... had the British presence down cold, at least.

Really like Daniel Craig. A little darker, nowhere near as showman-like and not fractionally as cheeky, less BS, more action, still smooth when realistically possible.

    1) Connery
    2) Craig
    3) Lazenby
    4) Brosnan
    5) Moore
    6) Dalton

Rest in peace, good Sir and Thank You.
