EVERYONE was in “The Longest Day.” Pretty sure Gert Fröbe — a.k.a. Goldfinger — was in that movie, too.

He was. OK, somewhere on Twitter today I saw a guy post that he was friends with one of the many character actors who played in The Rock. Director Michael Bay goes to said actor and starts telling him what to differently in the next take. Connery, right there, turns to Bay and says "why don't you go blow up a bridge." That's how a real movie star SHOULD act.

I really liked Roger Moore as Bond. But he wasn't helped with some strange flicks like "Moonraker."

Was never a huge Bond guy but he was clearly the best if what I saw.

The Untouchables is one of my favorite flicks and he was amazing.

Casting James Bond as Indiana Jones’ dad was brilliant (even though only a 12-year age difference between Connery and Ford).

And The Rock is a classic.

  7. Great actor. Sexy as all getout. But he lost me when he talked about how it wasn't so bad to hit a woman.

Can't believe we got this far and didn't come up with a list of the best Bond lines by Connery, most of the responses to straight lines:

    "My name is Pussy Galore."
    Bond: "I must be dreaming."

"Bond-san ... in Japan men come first. Women come second."
    Bond: "I may retire here."

"Oh, I've gotten you all wet."
Bond: "Yes, but my martini is still dry."

Sometimes the bad guy got the good line
Bond: "Do you expect me to talk?"
Goldfinger: "No, Mr. Bond I expect you to die."

Another great Sean Connery line, from Thunderball:

Woman driver: "Some men just don't like to be driven."

Bond: "No, some men just don't like to be taken for a ride."

Perhaps the coolest Bond moment ever, at the beginning of Goldfinger ... emerges from the water in a wetsuit, plants the explosives where the bad guys have their drugs stored, then takes off the wetsuit to reveal a white tux underneath.
