I was surprised to read how many people didn't get the big reveal at the end of the episode, but it made me sit up straight when I saw it and excitedly tell my wife and kids what was going on. Looking forward to Ep 2.

They didn't exactly hide it. The news of casting him was very public.

I knew they teased his armor. Hadn’t seen anything about casting. One reviewer on comicbook.com said he he didn’t recognize him
and the moment fell flat. I was pretty surprised by that.

On another note, is it me, or was the Marshal’s speeder one the engines from Anakin’s pod racer?

You aren't the only one I've seen point that out. It sure looks like it.

Maybe I just paid more attention to casting news, which spoils some points for the season.

I admittedly don't pay attention to casting news. If it isn't something involving an A-list actor that makes my FB feed, it's not something I search out.

They do have one more prominent actor confirmed and another rumored for this season, but I won't bring them up for those who haven't had that spoiled. (I think they were already on this thread or the Geek one, though.)

I think I know that one.

If they could keep baby Yoda a secret, I’m sure they have more surprises we are not aware of yet.

I don't doubt that. I don't remember seeing anything about Timothy Olyphant's appearance, and as I mentioned earlier, that was not an entirely new character to those who read the novels.

Rosario Dawson as Ashoka Tano has been out there for a while. I don't think Katee Sackhoff has been confirmed as a live-action Bo-Katan Kryze, the character she voiced on The Clone Wars. It would make sense for her to show up given that she is a Mandalorian and she once wielded the dark saber that is now in Gideon's hands.

I watch the show much like I watch any movie .. popcorn flick material. Then I look up the uber-geek sites and read about all that I missed.
That said, Spike, Jr. is all of a sudden all-in on the show and we have binged watched the first 6 episodes in 3 days (for an 8-yr-old, 2 episodes in a row is binging since he doesn't sit still for more than an hour. LOL) We'll probably catch up by Friday and watch Chapter 10 as well.

I had no idea it was supposed to be Boba. Like I said, I had to look it up after I watched. But it's been a cool "western-themed" Star Wars show, which is neat. I love the music.

I saw last week's episode yesterday. Meh.

    The good points?
    • Amy Sedaris was back. Yay!
    • I am evil because I laughed when the jet pack threw off the Jawa.
    • Zombie Richard Ayoade

    Frustrating:
    • Hormonal Frog Lady. Go away!
    • FEED THAT BABY! He was salivating at the BBQing beast chunk. Foreshadowing? Nah.
    • I could go a long time before watching ice spiders invade everdarnedthang again.

Memefest a-go-go. This happens whenever Favreau writes an episode:
    • "...and also with you!" Episcopal humor at its, well, something.
    • "Kill it with fire!" Waaay too many spider pictures on the internet with that caption.
    • Traffic cop beings. I almost heard "Bad Boys" when one of them said, "We got a runner."

Yeah, last week wasn't my favorite episode.

Chapter 11 was better, though the frog lady wasn't entirely gone.

One of those rumors I heard about came to fruition, and I thought it tied into the overall narrative just fine. I won't go further than that to avoid spoilers for now.
