It may be the liquor. It might have been my 11-year-old earnestly asking how people could vote for a bully like Trump. It might have been the conversation we had about not going to Thanksgiving or Christmas with either my family or the in-laws.

Everything close so far has tilted righter than expected, so we're expecting the polls in the really key swing states to be better than they were in Fla., NC and Georgia?

I'm angry at people who voted for Trump and I'm angry at the people who didn't bother to vote.

I'll second the "thanks" for a reasoned take, though.

The Florida thing constitutes such a surprising departure from the conventional wisdom that it's been jarring. That said, there is some evidence to suggest that the error seems tightly correlated to Latinos in Miami. What the first couple hours of this have taken off the table is the Biden >400 EV landslide of glory. We already know now that mail votes in Philadelphia and Milwaukee won't be counted until early tomorrow morning at the earliest. There is some good news in Ohio, but it may only be good enough to show that his leads in bluer parts of the Upper Midwest are durable enough. I think there'd be a lot less doomcasting if at least one or two of the Dems' "reach" goals were clearly happening (Georgia, NC, Texas, etc.)

Basically, the GOP got the first batch of good news and the rest has been no news, for the most part, or at least no news that is really determining.

That shows Biden flipping Arizona, Iowa and Montana, which adds 20 EVs to the Biden column from 2016. Also doesn't factor Maine and Nebraska splits. That map is a math-changer.

Don't think CNN's even mentioned this yet. Still having too much fun with the big iPad.

Love this place on nights like this.
