This is all counterfactual so there's no way to know for sure, but I think Joe Biden is the only Democrat who wins this election from the primary contenders. You needed every last bit of his ability to peel white voters away from Trump.

I think Texas will be blue probably by 2028. That would be my guess. And once Texas is blue, that's a game changer.

Is this really how you want to start things off, Joe?

This is true. I can't imagine there was any statistically significant far left-wing reluctance to vote this time, so a Sanders or, I guess, Warren, campaign doesn't add anything Biden lacked, and they probably don't reach into the middle as well as Biden did.

I'd still love to see Warren's campaign. She'd have absolutely roasted him in the debates and exposed him better for what he is. But, I think enough Americans probably already know what they think he is, and accept it. There's nothing left to expose that would make a difference.

I'm OK with that. Mess with Thanksgiving, though, and I'll cane your* hide.

    * In the general sense, not you specifically, @Starman.

On that front, as rabid as people were in their hatred for him, is anyone else a little surprised that we made it through four years of Trump without an assassination attempt?

I think Biden's implicit promise of a dull Presidency won him the election.

Rubio, Cruz and Romney should be on that list.
