Yes. For a time, Ernie could sure create horsepower but Bill couldn't tame it on anything smaller than a superspeedway, where the Thunderbirds had a tremendous aero advantage over the square front GMs.

    Well, that’s suboptimal.

I know it's 2020, but NASCAR's decision to have its season finale/title decider in Phoenix strikes me as odd.

Am I the only one annoyed when the remaining four drivers seem to run in the top four spots every year for a good portion of the finale every year? It never seems to happen at any other point of the season.

Oh, yeah. That’s definitely gonna happen.

    Where should they have it?
Homestead always seemed boring to me.
    It’s clearly going to a NASCAR-owned track.
If you can justify giving Daytona a third race, I’d say go there

    Darlington would be the best.

Shoot, go nuts and put it at Talladega just to watch people's heads explode when a 15-car wreck on Lap 20 takes out all four championship contenders.

    Co-signed.

    Postrace announcement tonight …

Hopefully the motor will be more durable than the one Rick used in the Corvette GTP.

    Correct.

Restrictor plate races are entirely too much of a crapshoot, so that takes out Daytona.
I like Bristol, but too many crashes and too many other outside factors ... i.e., better chance to get wiped out or collected in a wreck like a Big One at Daytona or Talladega. Plus weather.

Cannot say I was in love with Homestead, but like Phoenix, NASCAR was trying to avoid chilly weather.
