I've watched every episode in Season 1 and Season 2. Much of it is lost on me. If it didn't happen in the 9+2 films, I'm lost. Sooooo.....
    Season 2:
Episode 1: Deputy U.S Marshall Raylan Givens. Enough said.*
Episode 2: This is why I was always more of Star Trek than Star Wars guy.
Episode 3: I'm a seafaring man myself, so the setting held my attention.

*Also, we are now up to 3 Deadwood alums this season.

Bryce Dallas Howard swung for the fences again. It was a definite improvement over Chapter 10.

The art direction was just amazing. One thing ILM never fails at is hardware.

Hunh. So Mando is a Fundie?

I'll say no more until others have seen it.

I like both, but have a visceral loathing of Tribbles. For some reason, Toddler Yoda sits well.

I do have to say I thought the casting for the (sort of) new character was a great idea when I heard about it previously and it certainly worked in the episode tonight.

For those who don't know, the name that is dropped at the end of the episode will matter to the fanboys.

I keep forgetting he has a name. It's Din. And I guess Toddler Yoda is "Kid."

The dadisms from Din to Kid are funny, but they're fragile to overuse. "Stop playing with your food," and "I have enough pets" was funny, and I'm glad they were the only lines like that in the episode.
Did anyone else have mixed feelings about Kid's attitude regarding Hormonal Lady Frog's eggs and (Whitefonted to avoid spoiling anything if you haven't seen it yet.) the potential for disaster Din averted when he showed up at the sitter's?

Yeah, it meant exactly nothing to me, but a couple of people I watched the episode with literally fist pumped.
That having been said, I have read about the person playing the role.
I can think of two really nice reasons I enjoyed their performance in Alexander.

Those are only part of why that actor is great. That part shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. That casting was widely reported a while ago.

I'm not sure the one we see in Chapter 11 was ever even confirmed, but it makes sense for reasons the people you watched the episode with should have been able to explain.

There are people who were very upset by it. I thought it was odd, but very much in character.

I am enjoying The Mandalorian far more than any of the movies, and that includes the entire movie series.

Yes, and so was Rebels. Dave Filoni, exec producer on Mandalorian, was supervising director for Clone Wars and executive producer of Rebels. There’s probably nobody who knows more about current and past SW canon than him, unless somebody has read every single article on Wookiepedia.

As probably the only person on SJ who has cosplayed in official (but borrowed) Mandalorian Merc armor, that bit was not a surprise. The Mandalorian who
rescued Din Djarin as a child was pretty clearly by his blue armor coloration a member of the Death Watch and the “Heavy Infantry Mandalorian” character’s armor said the same, so no surprise when that character was confirmed as a member of Clan Viszla. Also, fuck the Death Watch. Buncha damn terrorists.

That is odd. It was Oscar who posted about Mando being a Fundie, yet it shows you quoting me on that one.

That shows the levels of depth different fans can dig into this thing. I had no idea about the color of Death Watch armor, but I did recognize Bo-Katan's armor as soon as I saw it. It helped that I had heard rumors of her being part of the show. As I mentioned above, when I was trying a little harder to avoid spoilers, I'm a fan of the actress and I thought it was a great idea to bring her into live-action after years of voicing the character on the animated shows.

(Yeah, I know. I'm spoiling stuff. It's been a week, people. Keep up!)

I reckon Thursday to Thursday to spoiler or whiteout anything that might spoil it for everyone. Does that sound okay?
