I don't think he can get all of our troops that fast. If the generals don't approve, a little judicious bureaucratic logjam and slow rolling will keep troops in place until Biden takes office.

I don't think he's going to find much support for rash military adventures after losing the election, but as CIC he might be able to force it.

 

The practical difficulty for an Israeli strike on Iran is that it'd have to fly over Iraq OR go over Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. The latter would require refueling and also might very well lead those despotisms to face serious internal revolt.

 

Seeing as how this administration hasn't shown a real deference to rules and laws, I don't care if Cadet Bone Spurs is CIC or not, I certainly hope there are people who say, "Yeah, we're not starting a war, and there really isn't anything you can do about it."
