Are there policies requiring a minimum number of available players by position? Ravens have one QB right now. Does the league mandate minimum of two? I can’t find answer via Google.

Actually, they have two quarterbacks. They had one on the practice squad.

Also, apparently, this idea that the Steelers' players wouldn't be paid if the Ravens forfeit is not necessarily true.

A Ravens forfeit would open a financial can of worms - ProFootballTalk

Jackson and McSorley are out. Griffin is available. There are no others on the roster that I’m aware of.

That would require an act of courage the NFLPA seems incapable of. One of the most toothless PAs in pro sports.

Has there ever been a forfeit in the NFL? Disco Demolition Night at old Comiskey Park in baseball comes to mind.

Yes, I've seen that. Read what I posted. The league office is claiming that the players wouldn't be played, but it is not clear in the agreement with the NFLPA, which only mentions canceled or suspended games. In any other season, players would be paid if there is a forfeit and apparently there is no new language in the deal worked out before the 2020 season that would change it.

A forfeit is different from a cancellation. It counts as a game played in the standings with a final score of 2-0.

They have Tyler Huntley on the practice squad, so they would have two quarterbacks available for the game. I don't think there is any rule about having a certain number of quarterbacks available. A team could go with no quarterbacks if necessary.

The lack of a decision from the league is an issue as well. The Steelers canceled practice yesterday and today, but still have no clarity less than 48 hours before the scheduled game. More importantly, there is a very real chance that no decision will be made at all today.

Any forfeit will remove the Steelers ability to have an honest undefeated season.

I'm sure that will be the complaint from the remaining members of the '72 Dolphins, an argument easily met with a reminder that they only played 14 regular-season games.
