The advantage of home field? It's still a home game in a partially field stadium.
Advantage of travel? They're less than a 4 hour drive apart. Drive.

Again, if you need advantages to beat a team (that you've already beat in their place when you "got screwed" out of your bye week) you've probably already lost.

They don't need the advantage, but they had it and it is now gone. You don't think having to travel makes a difference on a short week? You are welcome to cling to your ignorance on that one.

The Steelers were better off playing the game last night. That is what matters to me, not the inconvenience of having to wait to watch the game. Of course, now the Steelers will be without players they would have had Thursday night. I'm sure you will all start to call for the league to bend over backward for the Steelers now that they have players on the COVID list, too.

Advantage of home field: still there
Advantage of short week: Ravens haven't been able to practice much of the last week
Advantage of better team: Ravens don't have their running backs and Jackson has Covid

What other than the day has changed?

The advantage of the short week is no longer there without the short week.

We still don't know who will be able to play Tuesday. The Ravens could have more guys test positive. They could also get some guys back who were out due to contact tracing, such as Brandon Williams. Williams was also recovering from an injury and has a much better chance of playing Tuesday than he would have Thursday.

Also, the Steelers are now going to be missing three players who would have been able to play Thursday. There is a significant chance that the number will increase by Tuesday. We don't know how many of their players have tested positive yet if any.

That one game also isn't the only issue. The Steelers were supposed to have three extra days off after the Thursday night game, an extended rest that can help a team that was robbed of its bye. Because the league didn't make a decision until Friday, the Steelers didn't really get much extra rest in this week, either, but they will only have four days between playing Baltimore and Washington. That means preparing for a team they only face every four years on a short week. Then there is the possibility of the Pittsburgh-Baltimore game being postponed again Tuesday, which would most likely mean they have to add a game Week 18. Unless other games meet similar fates, that would leave the Steelers playing while every other playoff team gets a bye.

I mentioned most of this previously, but you were apparently too busy making assumptions about my concerns to actually read them.

How tone deaf can one idiot be? We’re in the middle of a pandemic and what matters to you is what day the game is played on. Priorities are in place.

Many things matter to me, pile-jumper. Within the context of the football thread, that is what I care about. Beyond the context of the football thread, it is well down the list of things I care about. I'm sorry you are too stupid to understand that.

Three players whose infections were identified before they potentially infected others, right? Is this a bad thing?

Oopsie, you are so socially fucked you really don’t get it. I know it’s not your fault.

It's not a good thing that they have it, obviously, and we don't know if all three are infected or if they are on the list due to contact tracing. Given the short time frame, all three could miss Tuesday's game even without a positive test.

Of course, it is better that testing identifies players who are infected before they can pass it along to others.
