The Chicago Bears are struggling tonight.

Thanks for the reminder. Worse, the Panthers have a bye next week.

Panthers are ahead of schedule in terms of a rebuilding ... but they haven't learned how to win and how to put a team away. Probably the most frustrating issue on the field for Matt Rhule so far.

They were expanded this season because of the pandemic.

My question is does this become permanent in the aftermath of the pandemic if the teams are willing to eat the extra few practice squad salaries.

I think they loosened the rules on signing players from it as well. IIRC, in the past, if you signed a practice squad player you had to keep him on the main roster. Now you can send him up or down a couple of times before you have to sign him to a full contract. It's almost like a developmental system.

Is Sam Darnold a total bust or is it Jets/Gase?And does Trevor Lawrence pull and Archie/Eli if the Jets have the top pick?

Also; obviously the Packers are good. But the Bears are painful to watch. I’m usually busy most Sundays but can usually chill and watch the second half of the Sunday night game. Been lucky that most have been competitive.

    Luck ran out tonight.

To be fair, the off-sides on the blocked extra point was extremely close. It was worth a shot to try. I don't think that was a terrible mistake. The missed field goal was ugly, but 54 yards is at best a 50-50 bet. The mistake that I thought should be frustrating was Bridgwater missing a wide-open receiver on third down before the field goal that put the Panthers up, 27-21.

That is correct, though I don't know the exact details of how it works. I'm not sure if they will keep all of the rules from this season, but maybe it is worth keeping some of the changes going forward. I like a larger practice squad, though I'm not sure they are going to want to take on more salaries, especially with revenues likely to be way down this season.

I think Darnold could make a good reclamation project somewhere else. As a Steelers fan, I'd love to see them take him on as a project to replace Roethlisberger. He has a better shot than the crap they have on the roster now. I do think Darnold needs to get away from the Jets. I thought Lawrence did hint at possibly staying in school if the Jets end up with the top pick. Would the Jets move on from Darnold if they can't get Lawrence?

I think the Darnold-Jets divorce is inevitable. And agree he can still be good with a change of scenery.

If Lawrence doesn’t happen, they’d probably go with Justin Fields.

Source: WR Snead joins Ravens positive for virus

The Ravens had yet another player test positive for COVID Sunday. This time it was wide receiver Willie Snead. Once again, I don't know how they can think they are playing Tuesday if they can't get through a day without another positive test.
