“I have personally explained the process to you, Debra” should be the standard response to Donald’s claim the election was stolen from him.

Well, nothing else has made Jenna Ellis acknowledge reality. Why would this be any different?

He wouldn’t last a day. He’d put out a note saying “I have resigned as Mass S in the US S.”

There really needs to be an amendment to stop this from happening. I get the majority leader can wield the power of setting the Senate's agenda, but this nonsense of he won't even allow people to vote on things that have been passed by the House or not putting the president's nominees up for a vote is utter bullshit. One guy can grind our Republic to a halt. One guy. No veto override available. No passing of new laws to get around a challenge of Constitutionality. Just DOA because 1 guy doesn't want to do his job. That isn't democracy.

Above all, the Senate needs to fix its rules so any majority leader can't just refuse to act. One person is literally thwarting democracy.
All this does is set the stage for presidents to issue executive orders. If you don't want that, vote on the legislation.

I don't ever remember a Senate majority leader acting like this before.

McConnell (and others in the Senate) don't see it as sitting on bills, they see it as protecting Rs from having to take bad votes that would pop up on tv ads in primaries and general elections. But yes, its not good. The Rs did the same thing in the House, not pushing forward on anything until a majority of Rs within the House approved it. It gave the "Freedom Caucus" a lot more weight than they should have.

I think it should be noted that any three or four GOP Senators who wanted one of those bills to get a vote could get it. They don't want to. Mitch is willing to take the heat for them because Kentucky will never not love the Senator who stuck it to the uppity black President, so he's free from voter pressure.

It's such a bad bill that just giving it a vote, regardless of its its outcome, would give it more credibility than it's worth?
